DGSC Membership Information

Classes of Membership: Downers Grove Sportsmen's Club supports the NRA 100%. Membership in the NRA is a prerequisite. Joining the NRA can be done via a link on this website on the home page or can be done at the club when turning in your membership applications. SHOOTING MEMBERSHIP Cost: $150 per year with a "one time" $50 processing fee Prerequisites: Those applying for Shooting membership must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and a member of the NRA. Application Process: Click Here to Download Application. Please fill in all information and include images of your FOID and NRA Membership. Once completed it can be turned into the DGSC member/employee working the front counter of the clubhouse, or a DGSC Board Member. After turning in application it will be reviewed and must be approved by the Board of Directors as presented at a Senior Membership meeting for their approval by a majority vote. Additional Information: Those with a Shooting membership classification are limited to the use of trap, skeet, 5 Stand and Sporting Clay facilities only. Applicants seeking Shooting Membership status will shoot for shooting member fees after submitting their first-year dues and fees. Members in this classification will have no interest in the real or personal property of the Club and shall not be entitled to attend any meetings of the Club unless specifically invited by a Senior Member. The spouse and children under the age of twenty-one (21) of a Shooting member shall be entitled to the same privileges as a Shooting member once approved. SENIOR MEMBERSHIP NOTE: Senior Membership Applications are accepted once per year and must be submitted prior to March 1st. Cost: $175 per year with a "one time" $300 processing fee Prerequisites: To apply for Senior Membership the candidate must have been a Shooting Member of the Club for a period of not less than 7 months and must be sponsored by a Senior Member in good standing who has been a senior member for a least one year. Application Process: Click Here to Download Application. Please fill in all information and submit to the Vice President (Membership Chairman) or designate, prior to March 1st. You will be interviewed by a Membership Committee leading up to the final approval and start of probationary period. Probationary Period: A Senior Member applicant shall serve in a probationary status for one (1) full year (4-1 thru 3-31). He / She shall serve on a committee for the entire one (1) year probationary period. By doing this, each probationary member shall be required to log a minimum of forty (40) service hours. If the Probationary Member is unable to fulfil the entire forty (4 0) hour requirement, they may elect to "Buy out" a maximum of fifteen (15) unfulfilled hours at a rate of $30.00 (thirty) dollars per hour. Along with complying with the work hours, each probationary member shall be required to work two (2) Club Functions (picnic, club party, BBQ, ATA, NSSA, NSCA, event etc.) and attend a minimum of two (2) Senior Membership meetings. Privileges of a Senior Member: Senior members have full use of the facilities, which includes, but is not limited to the trap, skeet and 5-stand fields, use of our property for hunting and fishing, and use of the dog training area. Those in the Senior membership category have voting rights on all business decisions of the Club. The spouse and children under the age of twenty-one (21) of a Senior member shall be entitled to the same privileges as a Senior member once approved. Duties of a Senior Member: Effective January 1, 2025, each newly enrolled Senior Member will commit to contribute five (5) Service hours per year on a committee, work party, or club function. Service hours to be recorded once completed. Unfulfilled Service hours will be added to the following year's dues statement at a rate of thirty dollars ($30.00) per hour.
